The crocheted erections are meant to highlight the ridiculousness of alpha male posturing, showing how adorably soft, absurd, vulnerable, (and pretty) men are when we think we are our hardest.
The vulvas are a celebration of women’s central role in the art of crochet and meant to challenge the sexist diminishing it receives because of its association with women. They are an homage to the women who taught Gordon how to crochet, as well as the sacred creativity of the divine feminine.
