As a kid I was always afraid of monster movies, so much so I could rarely watch them. (Double) Exposure Therapy is a dive into the fearful world of monsters and what they tell us about ourselves. The photo series, created for the 2026 Monsters Festival, combines people's portraits with images of the monsters who loom largest in their lives. Similar to how difficult it is to tease apart superimposed photos, it is all but impossible to separate ourselves from the fearful monsters that capture our imagination. If we dig deep enough, we realize they are a part of our psyche revealing deep truths about ourselves, if we have the courage to face them rather than run the other way.
